Action: Recommendation:
Lieutenant-Colonel John Stronach Adam, Assistant Adjutant and Quartermaster General (AA & QMG) 1st Canadian Division has been responsible for the correct functioning of the Administration services during the two major battles in which the division has fought this year, namely, the breaking of the German held Adolf Hitler and Gothic lines in Italy.
The success of the division in these operations has been in great measure due to the smooth manner in which the Administration services performed. No matter how difficult the problem of supplying ammunition, food or petrol or the evacuation of the wounded, in no case was there a break down. This was all accomplished by the meticulous planning and driving energy of Lieutenant-Colonel Adam, whose loyalty and devotion to duty are worthy of the highest praise.
