"Since 1940, K.L.M. have done most valuable work on the service between this country an Lissabon. Their achievement in maintaining almost a hundred per cent regularity in all weathers with a minimum of radio aids, inadequate equipment and depleted staff had been magnificent and had been a notable contribution to the war effort. Commander Parmentier, as their Flying Superintendant, has been responsible for the fine work done by the pilots ans Mr. van Os, as Chief of Technical Service, for the high standard of technical maintenance. The work done by both these men has been beyond praise."
