The Hero of the Mongolian People's Republic was instituted as a title in 1936. In 1941 it was complemented with a first type decoration. As from October 1945 the title was changed to a full decoration and called the Gold medal of the Hero of the Mongolian People's Republic and a second type decoration was presented.
